안녕         +   하세요        =          안녕하세요.

[an-nyeong]        [ha-se-yo]            [an-nyeong-haseyo]

which means :-

안녕 = well-being, peace, health

하세요 = you do, do you?, please do

this is the key of korean language..안녕하세요 is the most common way that korean people used to greet someone...and 안녕하세요 is a jondaetmal [polite/formal] language..

 and now let's try some conversation 

situation dialogue  (introducing themselves)

park minseo :an-nyeongha-se-yo.jeoneun park minseo ye-yo...

                       [hello...i'm park minseo]

paul smith  :an-nyeong ha-se-yo.jeoneun paul smith imnida

                    [hello i'm paul smith]

kim ji hun :an-nyeong jeoneun minseo namjachingu kim jihun                

                             [hi i'm minseo boyfriend kim ji hun]

park minseo  : namjachingu aniyeyo

                       [he's not my boyfriend]

NOTE :


There are three basic ways to greet someone in Korean, depending on what degree of politeness and/or formality the situation requires

1) 안녕   = an-nyeong  [very casual-not used among adults]

2) 안녕하세요.  = an-nyeong-ha-se-yo [honorific]

3)녕하심닊하 = an-nyeong-ha-sim-ni-kka[honorific/formal]

plz alert for i-e-yo/ye-yo before using it.

there some rules in order to used it

korean language use ending (i-e-yo) or (ye-yo) when they want to say/introduce someone is.

This change is depend on the last letter of the person's name is vowel or consonant

* IF THE NOUN END WITH VOWEL [A,E,I,O,U] = +YE-YO

* IF THE NOUN END WITH CONSONANT = + I-E-YO

Noun + i-e-yo/ye-yo (Polite)

Noun + i-ya/ya (Casual)

Noun + im-ni-da (Formal)
